Founded in 1997, Spencer-Abbott was started by a group of individuals with a passion for the classic and historic architecture of Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Spencer-Abbott has a mission to establish itself as a premier builder; capable of both specialized historic restorations and the building of custom homes.
It was through Spencer-Abbott’s strict attention to detail that many long-lasting bonds with clients were forged. Whenever work around the house needs to be completed, homeowners know that Spencer-Abbott is an outstanding construction company, one worth their trust.
Spencer-Abbott has been nationally recognized for their excellence, having been featured in such publications as Maine Line Today and This Old House.
Born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, Nicholas has been working in the construction field for over twenty-five years.
In 2008, Nicholas Tighe took control of Spencer-Abbott. A longtime employee, Nicholas originally began working with Spencer-Abbott in 1998, a year after it was conceived. Although he originally did on-the-job work, through dedication and skill Nicholas rose through the ranks, eventually being promoted to drafting proposals and estimates and overseeing the daily operations of the company’s projects. It was during his years of work that Nicholas also gained the trust of clients with his knowledge, professionalism, and they were thrilled to hear when Nicholas acquired the company he worked so hard for.
